Re-Birth, Docklands - 1st edition.
A4 Print, Ed of 10, Etching and Relief
Sold and shown at North Wall Art Gallery, Oxford
The title of my latest print shown at ‘Green & Pleasant Lands’ exhibition at the North Wall Gallery in Oxford.
Re-Birth, Docklands, is part of my new collection on the narrative of immigration, where I’m expressing the changing demographics of our British society.
Focusing on London Thames where the docklands hold memories of forgotten trades that are now camouflaged by glass skyscrapers. Reliving this history of a shipping wealth that travelled through London bringing new cultures and industries which expanded our arts, music, cuisine and fashion to name a few.
Within my prints and paintings, I weave together contrasting techniques, allowing echoes of the past to coexist with the visual language of the present.
By layering historical references with contemporary perspectives, I invite viewers to look beyond the surface and reflect on the enduring presence of history in our everyday lives.
My work explores how the stories, cultures, and events of the past continue to shape the world we inhabit, revealing history not as something distant, but as a living force woven into modern society.
