This picture tells the story of how the Jews first arrived in Alba Iulia, Transylvania. Arriving originally from Spain, and then into the Ottoman Empire the Jews were made to feel welcome. Though most of the Jews have now become globally scattered and few remain the synagogue has recently been renovated and the Jewish cemetery has been well preserved commemorating our history. The present is in bright colours, the shadowy past in muted tones and framed round the edges is the constant wandering of the Jews.
